The UEFA Conference League table isn't just a domestic league table you can flick through for the heck of it, it's actually a filter that determines which teams get an easy ride straight into the round of 16, who gets thrown into the mixer of the knockout play-offs and which clubs turn a decent league phase into a much tougher European test - it's for this reason that the standings really matter when it comes to betting. Teams finishing 1st to 8th get an automatic bye into the round of 16 while those finishing 9th to 24th get chucked into the play-offs.
